Easy mixed veggie

This post is specially for my buddies because I ate this as a starter at a dinner hosted by the birthday girl at one of the oldest chinese restaurants that survived till today (梅林). My mum used to buy the famous roast chicken from this restaurant when I was juz a kid..
...thanks to Seok who bought us dinner there..
Mixed veggie the easy way as I named it...ingredients are easily acquired or for my case, they are left over fresh ingredients from my last batch of cooking..is quite versatile and you can add or minus away ingredients too...it is definitely a comfort food kind of dish..

You will need:

4 stalks of long beans (2 cm.length
1/2 pkt of french beans ( 1cm length)
10 small square taupok
1/2 pkt baby corn (cut into 2 cm pcs)
1 pkt fresh wood ear
1 fresh red chilli..(2cm sqaure pcs)
3 slices ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
5 chestnuts(happen to have extra today)
2 tbsp oil

Seasoning:
1 tsp chicken powder
1 tbsp oyster sauce mixed with 1/2 tsp cornstarch and 3 tbsp water.
Dash of pepper & sesame oil

Method:
1. Brown ginger in oil and add garlic after the ginger is slight brown.
2. Add in the woodear and cover as the woodear 'explodes' ..fry for 4 mins to soften it..add in long beans and baby corn, fry for further 5 mins..
3. Add in the french beans, chestnut and chilli and mixed well..
4. Add in seasonings and fry till veggies turn soft.
5. Serve hot with rice or plain porridge.

* you can add gingko nuts, cubed fried fish cakes or even fried taukwa for variation..Enjoy
