Sesame oil pan fry mid wings
Chicken wings are the most versatile dish when you run out of ideas of what to cook for meals. They can be air fried into crispy wings, chicken curry using wings, soysauce chicken...potatoes & carrot wings stew..but trust me..my accidental creation Sesame oil panfried wings has never failed me either..
Ingredients:
1 pkt of mid wings
4 tbsp of sesame oil
6 slices of ginger
1 bunch of spring onion (white seperate)
2 garlic (whole)
1 tbsp of maggie seasoning sauce or light soysauce
A dash of black pepper
1 red chilli (cut into square pcs for garnishing)
Seasoning of wings:
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp mirin or shaoxing wine
Method:
1. Wash wings, dry them and season with seasoning for at least 30 mins or more.
2. Prepare a non-stick wok and heat it up.
Place wings skin down and pan fry without oil till slight brown.
3. Push wings aside and add in the sesame oil, ginger and white portions of spring onions. Fry till fragrant and ginger turns golden brown. Mix the wings with ginger slices & spring onions and pan fry turning occasionally so that both sides of wings turn nicely brown. Add in mirin or wine at this juncture.
4. Add in the rest of the green portion of spring onions and up the fire. Fry till the wings are done and lastly add in a tbsp of maggie seasoning sauce.
5. Garnish with red chilli and serve hot with rice.
*if u want a slight spicy taste add in more chilli at the point you brown the ginger slices, the chilli oil with infuse with the sesame oil.
