Easy and fluffy hotcakes
See this beautuful pancake that was made by my pretty niece Yee Kit..it must be her first attempt..I guess..See she made it following the simple steps...Kudos to her for trying out the recipe...Let 'Pak Leong' go and do some more research for kid-friendly recipe..and will share with you..Let me know what you like to make...😉😉but for now full concentration on exams first.....加油加油😍😍😍😍
I had shared this hotcake recipe (originated from an unknown blogger years back and looking back, my girls were never tired of these pancakes that were so easy to make..till now in their late teens and early adulthood...they still love these hot cakes as much as last time because there is still 2-3 orders per month😆😆.
...But today my blog is for dearest Angie... because she is just a foodie...she loves food to the max...the other day when she ate these that I brought for her...she was so amused by the softness of the pancake that I promised I shall blog a more detailed and improvised recipe that guaranteed 'no-fail' attempt.
Here it goes...Angie
1 cup self raising flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3/4 cup milk
1 egg (separate the yolk and white)
2 tbsp of sugar (optional)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Maple flavour syrup
Oil or butter for frying
Method: (Dry ingredients into wet)
1. Mix milk with egg yolk, vanilla essence and sugar..beat well.
2. Use a folk to beat the egg white till frothy..set aside
3.Mix flour + bicarbonate of soda into the milk mixture.
4.Add in the egg white..here you will see air bubbles appearing in the batter..
(Let in sit awhile if you have time, otherwise let it be because it will turn out fine.
5.Heat up a non stick pan and coat it with oil or butter (your preference) but butter has high heating point so caution that it will burn the pancake.
6. Scoop a ladle of batter into the hot pan and wait for bubbles to appear and flip over gently to fry for 1-2 minutes till light brown..(do not press the pancake while frying, it will force air bubbles out, making the pancake tough)
7. Served hot with butter and maple syrup..
The ladle that I used
Just beat the egg yolk and milk together, the balloon whisk does a great job throughout
Very important step to yielding a fluffy pancake apart from bicarbonate of soda
Egg white froth added
See the air bubbles when egg white is added in
Do not over stir from this point...
Flip once u see air bubbles
Stack me up..makes about 14 small hotcakes
My fav dish from Germany...here i use it to contain maple syrup...😄A very family-friendly recipe..believe me..my kids started eating these when they were 3 yrs old..they are in their 20s now and still loving it...💕💕💕
