Beef Donburi - easy one dish meal
Beef Donburi is my all-time favourite quick meal..and my kids love them always..
Frankly, when I browsed any recepie, I like to read the how to, what to and final outcome..without too much stories. If you are a frequent visitor to my humble blog, I do not write with style, I go with flow and write the minimum requirements and steps that just will bring me to the final product.
Ingredients at a glance..
1 pkt of beef slices (shabu shabu)
1 stalk of scallion
1 white or yellow onion (sliced)
1 to 2 eggs lightly beaten
Sauce
3 tbsp mirin
3 tbsp sake
3 tbsp soysauce ( choose a gd quality one)
1 tsp sugar
Method:
1. Fry the sliced onions on low fire to bring out the sweetness.
2. Combine and add in the sauce ingredients.
3. Add in a cup of dashi broth (add gradually and test the taste)
4. Finally adding in the beef, loosen the beef slices to prevent them clumping together.
5. When the sauce come to a full boil, turn down fire and gently stir in beaten eggs and off fire.
6. Add in the sliced leeks or spring onions if you do not have scallions.
7.Serve over rice and I love to sprinkle chilli powder or cayenne powder when serving..
