Olden Days two layers Agar Agar..菜燕糕


Out of the blue suddenly wanted to make some agar agar. It has been awhile since I last made one..this specially blogged for my Friday lunch group...the fairies and you all knows who the 仙s are🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣




This recipie was adapted from Table for 2 or more, Wendyinkk blogspot.com.




I had modified the steps according to how I will do it..



Ingredients 

10gm agar agar powder (pic swallow brand from NTUC)

1000ml of water (separate into 750ml/250ml)

200 - 250 g of sugar (200g a comfortable level of sweetness)

2 large stalks of pine screw / pandan leaves

1 packet Kara coconut cream

2 -3 drops food coloring of your choice


Method

1. Bring to boil 750ml water, with sugar and pandan leaves


2. Dissolve agar agar powder into remaining 250ml of room temperature water.


3. Remove pandan leaves and pour in the agar agar powder mixture, keep stiring and add in 2 to 3 drops of food coloring.


4. Bring water back to boil and pour in the entire packet of coconut cream ( can pour out the coconut cream and give it a stir)


5.Important to note  DO NOT STIR from now onwards once coconut cream is added. Bring to a full boil the mixture.
The two layers will slowly be formed..trust me just dont stir after coconut cream is added


6. Prepare a mould, wet it and pour agar agar mixture into mould, cool it down and chill in fridge


Note: Coconut agar agar can be made using packet coconut water, skip the coloring but same method..
